Cutting Board Comfort

Winter has been here for a few days now (and it already seems like from ever...)
The outside is gray, wet and cold. It feels to me much too soon for the sun to disappear, and
force my impressive basil to commit suicide, as it did, r.i.p.

All these sad facts filled me with the urge to create something that will bring back the sensations and the worm taste combination of tomato, basil, and sun - at least to the indoor area - A place where I can sometimes make a difference (that is a bit of control! control! control!).
On a new naked wooden cutting board I drew this fantasy image: Tomato basil and yellow lighting. To make the a dream come even closer to truth I added the title "Pomodoro" (i.e. "Tomato" in Italian) maybe it can help to move forward a summer vacation in Italy ( Which seems more like a dream these days...).
Anyway for now I'm all set - I have in my Hand Painted Cutting Boards Series a French guy (Bistro) and now an Italian one. The European atmosphere is all over the place!

OK - I feel inspired enough now - I think I'm going to prepare some pasta with tomato sauce... I may break a saving account and go buy some basil too.

Thank you so much Dana. It's a good idea, I must do an Israeli one and I think a title in Hebrew can be fun too. Falafel - maybe too common?...

Blanca -
I'm so happy that my "pomodoro" fills you with a piece of summer too!
Let's have dinner soon with many pomodoro dishes!
